Things that happened at Forte Prenestino, Rome
Me and Mattias Elftorp from C'est Bon Kultur had been invited to participate in the comic-festival Crack! in Rome. The heat was unbearable, but the festival was nice, a bit surreal, but nice. It was held in an old fortress occupied by squatters and took place down in the basement. During daytime we walked around or sat outside in the shade, drinking beer and discussing interesting and relevant things, and during nighttime we were underground, selling our magazines.
Phone:"They removed an 18 centimeter long cyst and one of her ovaries. She is asleep now."
Johan:"Can I have some whiskey?"

Epilogue
Frida:What a nice place! Good breakfast!
Johan: Yeah, and yesterday was such fun.
Frida:Really a nice ending of our trip!
Johan:Yeah ...
Frida: Shall we take the check?
Johan: Yes! I can pay!
Johan:Hmm, lets see ... If I give twenty dollars maybe I can find some spare change for the tip ... Lets see now ...
Frida: I pay by card.
Johan:But ...
Frida: Well your so slow!
Johan:But I can give you some spare change ...
Frida:I don't want any spare change.
Johan: But maybe if I THROW IT IN YOUR FACE!?
Johan: Yeah, and yesterday was such fun.

The Final Night
We were again back on the rooftop. We hung out with the other swedes who rented an apartment-hotel in east village owned by Hare Krishna. It was a really nice night, a thunderstorm was going on in the distance and we counted the flashes beyond the skyscrapers. A guy who had been walking around on the roof for a while sat down and spoke to us. The man left and we were beginning to feel a bit drowsy, it was really late. Or early.
Jacob(man in black): Well perhaps it's time to go to bed now.
Johan:Frida, what do you say, shall we hit the road?
The text is lyrics from the song 747 by Kent. They have made an english version o the song also, but as always most songs are best in their original language. English version

The Weird Feeling
I woke up with a weird feeling.
Frida:Hi!
Frida:Wow, what an adventure it was getting here! The train didn't go on sundays and I got on the wrong one and have been traveling for one and a half hour.
Frida:Are you going somewhere?
Johan:Nah... I was just going to put on a sweater, then go down and continue to wait for you.

At night.
I went home from central park and found my two roommates from Paris at the hostel doing nothing.
page 3:
Well hello there!
Here I am all alone i a dirty old cellar-room in New York in the middle of the night drinking beer.
Why, you may wonder.
To be honest, as do I ...

So, this was a pretty uninteresting and very dull episode from my trip to New York, but maybe it was exactly the dull and unintersting stuff that made sense at the moment.

Bound for Uppsala
So today I got an unexpected gift. My old classmate Markus Backlund had won two tickets to Uppsala Reggaefestival and he asked me if I wanted to come. I'm not a big fan of reggae, but what the hell, a free ticket to a festival in the summertime is kind of hard to turn down! This means of course, no blogging this weekend, but maybe on monday.

All alone.
I felt I needed some time alone, so Frida got on a cab and went off to hang out with the other swedish people who also were in New York. I gave her my mobile phone, so that she could find them, but now there was no way for them to find me, except by mail. I kind of felt that it was a good thing. So ... Now my spiritual journey alone in New York could commence. What strange adventures was I about to experience? What curious people was I about to meet? (I kind of didn't feel like meeting any people actually, nor experiencing any adventures ...)

Pulaski Bridge
Later that night.
Frida:Thank you! (referring to God or whatever deity she seems to be so fond of.)
Sometimes when you travel in pairs the smallest things can be the most annoying, it's not that you dislike the person in regular life, and it's not something you can really explain, but sometimes when you travel in pairs ...
